All For Love Concert & Fundraiser

Bogart's Upstairs in the AMC Theatres ~ The Oaks Mall
166 W. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks CA 91360

Top Cabaret and Jazz singers and songwriters will perform at a benefit concert and fundraiser for All For Love Animal Rescue on Saturday, June 2 at 3 p.m., at Bogart’s Upstairs, inside the AMC Theatres at the Oaks Mall, in Thousand Oaks. The event features special performances by award-winning singer-songwriter Amanda McBroom and Jazz legend Sue Raney. Other performers include singing duo, Maripat Davis and Richard Osborn, whose debut CD is being released this summer, and well-known composer, arranger, and pianist Shelly Markham. Also featured are Jon Stuart on drums and Adrian Rosen on bass, with sound by Paul Tavenner of Big City Recording Studios.

Amanda McBroom has been called “the greatest cabaret performer of her generation, an urban poet who writes like an angel and has a voice to match,” by the New York Times. A Golden Globe winner and Grammy nominee, McBroom first rose to fame when her 1979 song The Rose, was recorded by Bette Midler and became a number one hit around the world. Her songs have been recorded by a wide variety of prominent artists, and she has performed in concert halls around the world, from Carnegie Hall to Angel Place Recital Hall in Sydney, Australia. She recently released Voices, her sixth CD with Gecko Records.

Sue Raney was signed by Capitol Records at the age of 17, and recorded her first album called When Your Lover is Gone, with Nelson Riddle. Julie Andrews has described her as “a marvel. Her voice has phenomenal range and pitch…that makes me writhe with envy. She has passion. She is an actress. I guess you can tell I’m a fan.” Raney has been a frequent guest on many of TV’s best known variety shows, and continues to record and perform in symphony concerts, major clubs, and jazz festivals throughout the U.S. and abroad.

All proceeds from the fundraiser will go to All For Love Animal Rescue (AFLAR), a 501c3 nonprofit animal rescue organization. Founded by Ventura County resident, singer-actress Maripat Davis, AFLAR has rescued hundreds of homeless animals and placed them in loving, forever homes. AFLAR focuses on rescuing animals in the most danger of euthanasia, and depends 100% on charitable donations to rescue, board, and provide medical treatment for the many animals they save.

In addition to the musical performances and live band, the special event will feature a silent auction with many items to bid on, opportunity drawings and door prizes, and complimentary snacks and desserts. A full bar and other food items are also available, as well as valet parking. Bogart’s Upstairs is located inside the AMC Theatres at the Oaks Mall, 166 W. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks, 91360. Tickets for the event are $25 in advance, and $30 at the door. Seating is limited, and reservations are recommended.
